Excellence
in Sponsorship Awards
The
Excellence in Sponsorship awards are designed to honor the dedicated
people who solicit and sign corporate sponsors. The award competition
is open to the anyone working in sponsorship sales. Entry should
only include sponsorship programs that have been signed and/or implemented
during the designated time period (July - July). Applicants may
submit up to five entries for consideration.
Sponsorship
takes vision, expertise and long-term commitment. The Excellence
in Sponsorship awards were created to provide national recognition
to people who's sustained effort is responsible for generating revenue
and exposure for thousands of organizations across the country.
Deadline
& Judging
Entries
must be submitted by August 1, 2006. Complete the simple form below
to enter. There is no application fee. You may submit up to five
entries. Partners with The Sponsorship Network will rate award entries
based on the overall effectiveness of the program. What did the
sponsorship mean to the organization? Each application will be given
a rating of 1 - 100.
Presentation
of Awards

Briefly Describe Major Benefits to Sponsor: Hospitality ticket package,
cause-related overlay, logo mention on ads and collateral materials,
pass through rights & privileges to advertisers with WAFF, customized
promotion (watch and win), opportunities to generate Non-Traditional
Revenue for station, celebrity appearances, first opportunity to
preview exhibit, first press coverage.

Briefly Describe the Sales Process: Sci-Quest sponsorship director
met with station marketing and promotion manager. The manager was
new to the market and wanted a promotion to drive viewership and
provide sales department with inventory of benefits to provide to
advertisers, as well as make a spectacular first-year promotion.
Sci-Quest then developed a proposal based on the initial meeting
and met with sales manager and marketing manager. Re-adapted to
provide second cause-related overlay and gained final buy-in.
Describe Any Sales Strategies: 1) get a jump on things and
increase lead time for sponsorship sales, 2) look for ways to earn
more money and look for ways sponsors can help with more than just
cash, 3) provide measurement to the sponsor.

Briefly Describe the Sales Process: Met human resources in
person. Upon face-to-face ran into a contact who knew a friend of
mine. Got geographical sales persons name. She was extremely interested
as summer is particularly a time of need for blood donations. Contacted
our executive director for the specific location and got his buy
in, i.e. bring traffic to his location. Continued to check with
Bonfils contact and YMCA executive director. Got a date set and
meeting with interested parties.

Drive traffic.
